Therapy that goes deeper, faster—

because time doesn’t actually heal ALL wounds.

If you’ve been running on autopilot—powering through work, relationships, and responsibilities—yet feel disconnected, anxious, or constantly “on edge,” you’re not alone. Many high-functioning adults carry a quiet weight of old survival strategies and unresolved wounds from the past. Even if you can’t pinpoint the cause, the signs are there: reoccurring burnout, an inner critic that never rests, assuming responsibility for everything, difficulty trusting or feeling truly safe in yourself or with others.

I equip, encourage and support adults in breaking free from the rut of just getting by to building a life rooted in their ability to navigate from a place of calm, clarity, and connection. Through an integrative trauma-informed approach that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), parts work such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, neuro-based such as polyvagal theory and NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), we move beyond symptom focus and address the root that fuels them.

  • We want therapy to feel clear and manageable. Summer Tree Therapy is not an in-network provider, and payment is made directly at the time of services via Ivy Pay smart-phone app.

Some clients pursue partial reimbursement from their out of network insurance (OON) by utilizing Thrizer, which is a service that files and tracks out-of-network claims for you. With Thrizer, your insurance can send reimbursement directly to you depending on your plan, deductible, and OON behavioral health rates. Thrizer can help you confirm your OON plan details via [https://www.thrizer.com/for-clients].

This hybrid approach means you get the flexibility of direct pay with the support of your insurance benefits—so we can both focus on your healing, not insurance paperwork.

I'm Laney Bassham, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-TX #72941) serving clients across Texas from the Greater Texarkana area.

Since 2013, I've supported adults struggling with anxiety, grief, trauma, burnout, life transitions and problematic coping. My career began in residential addiction treatment, working with adults 20 to 65 years of age, and equipped individuals with tools to self regulate, insight into their problematic coping mechanisms, and agency to heal chronic self sabotage from unresolved trauma wounds.

In 2017, I launched Summer Tree Therapy as a solo private practice while living in Denton, TX. In 2022 I transitioned to offering online therapy across Texas as a EMDR trained psychotherapist along with my own relocation back to family in the greater Texarkana area. In 2025, I began offering virtual trauma therapy intensives as an alternative scheduling option for busy clients, but most importantly as a means to capitalize on healing momentum for faster, deeper and sustainable results.

My approach is to partner with you to identify the intentions you have for yourself, explore blocks to your healing, and reinforce your agency to anchor into how to thrive, not just survive. Let's get started!
